Users can connect from any computer on the network, or over an Internet-based virtual private network (VPN) with a Web browser, to retrieve their Exchange-based information without any special user configuration on the computer.
• Instant Messaging Service. Lets users instantly set up a chat session with local or Internet users without having to pay local or long distance phone fees, utilizing the shared connection to the Internet.
• Group Scheduling. Allows users to organize meetings quickly and efficiently over the Internet so they no longer need to have a meeting to schedule a meeting.

Shared Fax Service

 This newly re-architected feature allows users to send faxes from their desktop through a multiple, shared fax modem or interface. Administrators can configure fax-calling times, priorities, and manage the fax queue.

Health Monitor

Lets us view system performance metrics, set and modify thresholds to report server health, and configure server-based alerts. The alerts can then be configured to run actions such as logging the issue, running a command line, or sending an e-mail to a local or remote user. We can configure the alerts to send e-mail messages to our own Maintenance Department.

Server Status Tool

Helps us to automatically receive regular "snapshots" of server status, including hardware condition, application health, and system performance. We can have these reports regularly e-mailed or faxed to us at designated times in Extensible Markup Language (XML) format. These reports can be kept on file for building historical views of server usage and planning for future upgrades or required maintenance of your server.

Windows Terminal Services–based Administration

Allows the use of either an Internet connection through a Web client such as Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or through dedicated client software, to manage Small Business Server remotely using the Small Business Server Management Consoles. Gives administrators and users the same software functionality as if they were on the LAN or sitting in front of the server console.
